PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Part 150 Study
Advisory Focus Groups
The Part 150 Study Advisory Focus Groups provide meaningful input on such issues as current and forecasted/future aircraft operations noise levels, and recommendations for reducing aircraft noise exposure in the surrounding communities.
To ensure the Part 150 Noise Study reflects a wide range of voices and experiences, focus group members were selected through an open and thoughtful process. Community members were invited to apply using a public form, and their responses were reviewed anonymously by a neutral committee from Jefferson County. The goal was to create balanced groups that represent different neighborhoods, backgrounds, and levels of familiarity with airport issues. The review team carefully evaluated numerous group configurations to find the most representative and diverse mix of participants. Airport users were selected based on organizational representation and relevant experience and local planners were selected by their local jurisdictions. This careful approach helps ensure the study is informed by both technical insight and real community perspectives.
